Nielsen Merksamer is pleased to announce that Chambers and Partners has ranked Chip Nielsen as one of the leading practitioners in the nation in Political Law in 2016. Chambers ranks law firms and individual lawyers in bands from 1-6, with 1 being the best. Mr. Nielsen was ranked in Band 1. The guide notes:

Chip Nielsen has a strong reputation in the field of political law and has attracted a number of significant California-based clients to his practice. Interviewees describe him as the “dean of the California campaign finance Bar.”

The qualities on which rankings are assessed include technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial astuteness, diligence, commitment, and other qualities most valued by the client.

These factors and considerations are judged: (a) by interviews with those active in the market – mainly clients (who can be law firms instructing other law firms) and other lawyers with whom they work; and (b) by assessing recent work done.

Internal meetings are held by researchers, deputy editors and editors to go through the research Chambers has conducted and to compile and approve the ranking tables.
